YouTube is launching a replacement personalized music experience with an ‘activity bar’ on the homepage alongside personalized playlists on Android and iOS.
“We’re introducing a set of latest personalized playlists and how to navigate the YouTube Music homepage, to make sure every listener can easily enjoy the music that speaks to them,” wrote YouTube music’s product manager Nathan Lasche during a blog post.
YouTube is adding a replacement ‘activity bar’ on the homepage, which incorporates personalized playlists for various activities.
“We’re launching an activity bar which will feature common activities on the YouTube Music homepage and accompanying personalized playlists. As a neighborhood of this launch, we’ll also roll out a replacement set of My Mix playlists,” Lasche wrote.
The activity bar is supposed to supply quick access to music for four featured activities, including Workout, Focus, Relax, and Commute.
For instance, if a user clicks on the Workout icon on the activity bar, they’re going to because of a page filled with personalized playlists. they’re going to also receive up to four new personalized Workout Mixes.
Apart from this, users are going to be ready to find up to seven personalized playlists called ‘My Mix playlists,’ on the house tab, tailored to their preferences.
“Bringing it all at once is My Supermix (formerly referred to as Your Mix), which mixes all of your music tastes into one eclectic listening experience, wrote Lasche.
The platform will regularly be updating My Mixes.
Google has been bullish on YouTube Music because it is preparing to shut Google Play Music by the top of this year and to compete with popular audio streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify.
