Xiaomi has its own user interface (UI) in MIUI, which covers virtually every aspect of Google’s Android operating system. We know that currently, the Chinese company works on miui 14 versions, as well as in the intermediate version, miui 13.5 arrive soon to several smartphones of the brand. However, we now have a surprise update in the form of MIUI 13.1.
With the Android 13 operating system in mind, Xiaomi is preparing MIUI 14 to be presented later, preceded by MIUI 13.5 and, apparently, the new MIUI 13.1. This surprise update began to be distributed briefly in China’s domestic market and is expected to feature global distribution.
The MIUI 13.1 is a small update from Xiaomi before MIUI 13.5
The most important change with the new MIUI 13.1 update is the change in the base version of the Android operating system, already mentioning Android 13. This is the information recently published by xiaomiui publication.
In other words, MIUI 13.1 is already based on Google’s Android 13, the next version of the operating system that will officially be introduced within a few weeks. It should be noted, however, that the update is currently limited to the domestic market.
In fact, as the above source refers, at the moment there is no concrete information about the new update, available only for Xiaomi 12 smartphone models. Nevertheless, this will also be an update to the global market.
Update currently limited to models of the Xiaomi 12 range
Still according to the same source, it is not expected an availability of MIUI 13.1 for all recent models of Xiaomi. On the contrary, this will be an update restricted to the latest models, especially to high-end equipment.
IT is also likely that MIUI 13.1 is a provisional version coming to anticipate the arrival of Android 13, even if it is not a beta version, but rather a stable version of the interface. At the moment we need details about this software.
For users of the Xiaomi 12 range this is a new package of novelties that can reach their smartphones in the course of the next few days. Thus, if you have a Xiaomi 12 or Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphone check the software update center, or the MIUI Downloader app.
