Apple is expected to start receiving this year,3 nm chips from TSMC that unfortunately will no longer arrive in time to be integrated into the iPhone 14.

But it seems that in 2024 the new 3 nm chips will be integrated into all iPhone models, whether pro models or not Pro.

iPhone 15 will be equipped with 3 nm chips from TSMC

Later this year, Apple will receive the new 3 nm chips from TSMC. Since the iPhone 14 will be released in mid-September, the long-awaited processors are no longer in time to be integrated into this generation of the smartphone.

But with the iPhone 15, the situation will be completely different. According to the latest rumors, the new tsmc chips will be integrated into all variants of the iPhone 15 series, whether these Pro models or not Pro.

It is recalled that 3 nm is the latest process to manufacture the most advanced processors of the moment. In fact, the smaller the value in nanometers, the greater the number of transistors on a chip. And the more transistors the chip has, the more powerful and energy-efficient it will be.

In other words, TSMC’s 3nm chip is currently the best, as the current Snapdragon 8+, Gen 1, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 are based on TSMC’s 4 nm process.

iPhone 14 Pro models will have the A16 Bionic chip based on the 4 nm process

The iPhone 14 will hit the market with a new processor. Or rather, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models will integrate the new A16 Bionic processor, Apple’s owner.

This processor also uses TSMC’s 4 nm manufacturing process, as well as Qualcomm’s current top chips, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. But non Pro models will keep the A15 Bionic processor present in the previous generation.

This last processor uses the 5 nm process, also from TSMC. With 15 billion transistors, the A15 Bionic is also powerful and energy efficient, but not as much as the 4 nm-based A16 Bionic will be.
