New Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Gaming-Inspired Peter Parker

Speculation about the possible inclusion of Venom in Marvel’s Spider Man 2 has been buzzing among fans for quite some time now. With the sequel’s release just around the corner, fans are eagerly discussing and sharing their theories on how this iconic character might be introduced into the game’s storyline.

The identity of Insomniac’s Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 remains unknown, leading to speculation about who the symbiote has taken control of. It’s known that Venom is not Eddie Brock, and the character is being given a new identity. Theories about Harry Osborn as the new Venom in the PlayStation Spider-Man universe were disproven in the sequel’s trailer.

Fans are already speculating as to whether Venom is actually Parker, which would be a great shock. Several sequences from the most recent Marvel’s Spider Man 2 teaser have both Spider-Man (presumably Parker) and Venom in the same frame, as the fan in the Reddit thread below points out. This ought to end the discussion, don’t you think?

Well, other fans have pointed out that it wouldn’t be the first time that a PlayStation studio has edited the contents of a trailer to hide a big spoiler. We’re not saying that this is definitely the case,

but it’s a theory amongst fans right now. You probably remember the huge The Last of Us Part 2 moment early on with Joel that turned the entire series on its head, but was completely shielded from players in the game’s trailers thanks to some smart editing.

Despite this, there are still a lot of people who don’t think this hypothesis is true at all. One Marvel’s Spider-Man fan comments in the post above, “The existence of the ’19-inches of Venom’ figure, in my opinion, disproves the Venom Peter theory. There’s no way Insomniac would release an expensive figure to come with the game that’s inaccurate and doesn’t even fit the story; I would imagine there would be quite the backlash if they did.

Thankfully, we won’t have to wait long to learn the answer because Marvel’s Spider Man 2 is scheduled to arrive in October 2023, exclusively for the PlayStation 5
